Megan Jeidy Crotts is among North Carolina soccer’s most highly decorated players. A highly accomplished soccer player at Northwest Guilford High School, Megan was named North Carolina Player of the Year and was an NSCAA & Umbro All-American and Parade magazine All-American senior in 1994. She was named Conference and Regional Player of the Year twice and was selected to play in the 1994 East-West All-Star game.


Megan played most of her youth soccer in Greensboro while also participating many years in the NC ODP Program.  She was a member of the Greensboro Buccaneers, Shamrock Flyers, and the Greensboro Twisters, who finished 2nd in the 1993 USYS U17 National Championship. Megan played for one season with the Raleigh Spartans. The team advanced to the national Final Four and won the 1995 USYS U18 National Championship. Megan was named both Final Four MVP and was honored with the Fair Play Sportsmanship Award. The Spartans team was inducted into the NC Soccer Hall of Fame’s National Champions Hall of Honor in 2013.  


Megan played four seasons at North Carolina State University and was named All-ACC and to the ACC All-Tournament team in 1995 and named All-South Region in 1995 & 1997. After college, Crotts played from 1998-2000 with the Raleigh Wings of the United Soccer League W-League. During that time, the team won two league titles and was runner-up during the third season. The Raleigh Wings team was inducted into the NC Soccer Hall of Fame’s National Champions Hall of Honor class of 2021.


After the 1999 World Cup, the Women’s United Soccer League was formed as the first professional soccer league for women. Megan was a member of the Bay Area (California) Cyber Rays in 2001, which won the WUSA inaugural Founders Cup championship.


In addition to playing, Crotts has coached for 10+ years, from recreation up to the classic level.


 Megan was inducted in 2021 into the Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame.


She was also elected in May 2018 to the NCSHOF Board of Directors and in 2020 as Board Secretary.
